Painting the Roses Red . . .

That's what we've been singing a lot around here.  Kaylee's music/art teacher applied for, and received a grant for a 4th and 5th grade musical this year.  It's the full length Disney musical "Alice in Wonderland".  I just have to brag about Ms. Jackson, the music teacher, for a minute. She is just awesome and we are so lucky to be at a school where she teaches. She goes way above and beyond what is expected and has really made the music and art program at Remington Point something all the kids love to participate in.

The reason we are singing here in the Phillips house is because Kaylee tried out and got the lead part!!!  I am so excited for her and proud!  She will be the "medium Alice", which is the everyday Alice.  There are 2 other Alices - one for when she shrinks and one for when she gets bigger.  I just can't believe it.  Kaylee has her work cut out for her though.  We got the script today and it's almost 1 inch thick and Kaylee has a part on nearly every page -hehe.  I know she can do it.  She already has all the songs memorized.  Can you tell I'm so proud??  hehe.

Now I have to brag on Zachary for a bit too.  :)  For Valentine's Day, he wrote his own name on ALL of his valentines!!  Not only is that an accomplishment because he learned all the letters and how to write them, but he actually sat still and wrote his name on all 19 of them.  He would also want me to brag about the fact that he has made it to world 9 on Super Mario and set 2 records for sprinting on Mario and Sonic Olympic games - hehe.  He is so good at the Wii and Nintendo DS games - it just amazes me.  But hey - I get in on the fun sometimes too - I set the new world record for pole vaulting - ROFL!!!

Other than that, I've just been working on new class stuff and a new digital kit.  For the next Crazy Daisies class, we will be learning to make Periwinkles, and my new digital kit is going to be called "Lovebirds" - at least I think that's what I'm going to call it.  Now I'm off to grab a late - VERY late dinner and try to wind down for bed, so . . .

Tuesday class moved and Photos of Gracie :)

Hello again!

Let me start with the class info.  Due to so many people having scheduling conflicts with the Tuesday Crazy Daisies class - we haved moved it to the next Tuesday, February 23rd.  So the upcoming classes are now:
Saturday, February 20th from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM
OR
Tuesday, February 23rd from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM

The Junior Scrappers Club will meet on Saturday, February 20th from 10:15 AM to 12:15 PM.

Now - I can't wait to show you these photos!  Miss. Amanda was so sweet to set up a photo shoot for me of Gracie with all the props I could bring.  These were a Valentine's present to Kaylee.  I'm going to let her choose one to make a big poster out of, and we'll probably put a border around the big photo showing some of the smaller ones, then we'll frame it to go above her bead.  These really turned out awesome - a big thank you to Amanda for doing such a fantastic job with them!!  So . . . . . here they are . . . .

One of my favorites in the American Girl doll bathtub.

This one is Gracie in her adorable pink sweater, and the blanket I crocheted for her.

Our little cutie in her salon chair.

Love this on the rug - she was being soo good!

This is also one of my favs!!  She's just such a fun puppy!

Kaylee is so excited and I'm gonna have to go get them printed for her to start putting them into her very own scrapbook that she is making for Gracie.  It will be so cute!

That's all the news I have for now - so

Saturday Classes Postponed :(

After talking with Cherie today, we will need to postpone the classes for tomorrow until next Saturday.  UPS did not deliver today and some of the class supplies were in that shipment.  They have told Cherie that they will not be delivering tomorrow either.  Also, I know some of you come from quite a ways away and I don't want anyone to risk having a wreck on the roads to get to my class.  I apologize for any inconvenience, but we will have the classes at the same times next Saturday, February 20th.  The Tuesday Crazy Daisies class will remain on this Tuesday, February 16th from 6:30 to 9:30 PM.

Next Saturday's Classes (February 20th) will be:
10:15 AM to 12:15 PM - Junior Scrappers Club
1:30 to 4:30 PM - Crazy Daisies - the Gerber Daisy class

The shop will be open for anyone who wants to stop by and she is planning to have tomorrow night's crop as scheduled.  Thanks so much!

Now That's Not Supposed To Happen . . .

. . . to quote Widget from "Wow Wow Wubzy".  At least it's not supposed to happen in Texas!  We are getting LOTS and LOTS of SNOW!!!  It has made a slushy mess and they are saying we could get up to 9 inches before it's all done.  The kids are loving it, but Robby said he chooses to live in Texas to stay away from the stuff - guess it found him anyway - tee hee hee!!  I have to share some photos of us out having fun after everyone got home today.

The backyard - and it's still coming down!!

The "Before photos" - notice how clean and warm they look - hehe!!

We decided to make a snowman.

Here is our snowman, "Hardhat Hal", as Kaylee named him.  And here's the song for our version of "Frosty":

Hardhat Hal the snowman,
Was a jolly happy soul.
With a Dragin worm mouth and a Senko worm nose
And two eyes made out of bobbers!!!

How appropriate for our family - all fishing stuff - ROFL!!

SNOWBALL FIGHT!!!!

Zachary tried to sneak up on Daddy.

Here's the aftermath:

And poor Gracie just doesn't know what to think.  The snow is almost as deep as she is tall.  Robby is having to clear off a spot in the grass because it is getting so deep we'll loose her!!  Here's her first snow pics:

I'm sure we'll all sleep good tonight.  We (Robby and I) may not care much for snow - but we made the best of it and had a great time with the kids.  It had just better all melt by tomorrow afternoon so I can make it to the big President's Day sale at JoAnn's!!!  :)  Take care and stay warm!

We will be making two 2 page layouts.  One will be about your 10 favorite things for 2010.  The other will be a friends layout.  I will try to post photos if I can before the class.  :)

I have to add a few funny puppy photos here.  These will give you an idea of the size difference in our dogs - hehe.  Zeus is so hilarious.  He has his own doggie pillow that he loves - but he can't stand that there's a doggie bed that's not for him - so he tries to crawl in - even though he doesn't hardly fit - rofl!!

I hope to get to see you this weekend!  Stay safe and warm!
